Severin Stitzenberger
Percussion Tutor
Severin Stitzenberger, born (1991) and raised in Wangen im Allgäu, spent his schooldays mainly at drums and percussion at music school, dance bands and youth orchestras. Following that, he studied with Prof. Arnold Riedhammer and Prof. Peter Sadlo in Munich and with Prof. Klaus Schwärzler in Zurich. After his military service at the Luftwaffenmusikkorps Munich and an internship at the Opera Stuttgart positions at the Opera Frankfurt and the Augsburger Philharmoniker led him to the appointment as 1st percussionist of the Gewandhausorchester zu Leipzig. Besides this he is member of the brass ensemble Salaputia Brass and is teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Leipzig. 2021 his first book with exercises for Snare Drum in an orchestral environment was published at Edition Svitzer.
